power tools

I grew up in a house where there were no power tools and for that matter very few hand tools. I guess if something broke or needed repaired then my parents hired it done. So naturally I thought that this is the way the world worked becuase as children we only know the reality that we are raised in.

I knew that my friends Dads had tools and used them but I didnt really pay that much attention and actually thought that was kind of wierd.

I have been a homeowner for over a year and I am aquiring tools at a fairly quick rate. I have been remodeling a bathroom in my basement well since january, the project has taken a long time and is nearing completion. (maybe when it is done i will put up a picture timeline of the project). Through this project I have learned from friends and the instructional classes at home depot how to be a man and cut things with my circular saw with a carbide blade, how to mix morter with my drill. how to anchor studs into concrete floors with a drill and expensive screws. How to lay tile and hang drywall.
I am becoming not just a man, but a handy man I guess that is one word, a handyman.
thank you

thoughts

I have been wondering lately if art influences politics or politics influences art. I am sure that it swings both ways. But it is interesting to think about. I dont think that politicians are very often revolutionaries but artist often are?

not understanding

ah the famous blogging words,
It has been a while since I have blogged here.
I have no excuse just busy.
It is not that my life is not inspired recently, as a matter of fact it has been quite the opposite.
Musically I have been more active in the last 2 months than I have been in the last 2 years. I will have new music up on myspace soon.
I have been thinking alot lately about how cool it is when you can really feel God moving in your life. Man this is one of those things that doent happen all the time for me. It comes and goes and I think that most people would say the same. Lately it has been intense and that is awesome and scary at the same time, usually this has accompanied change in my life, leaving a band, getting married, going to college, so I have learned that God rocks my world when I feel this movement. Man whats coming, maybe nothing, maybe something, most likely me waiting and not understanding.
